This is pretty damn inspirational.
Artist and designer Ron Finley takes the time to drop some wisdom in this TED Talk.
Ron couldn’t help but notice what was going on in his neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles … home of the drive-thru and the drive-by.”
He says the drive-thru fast-food stands contribute more to the area’s poor health and high mortality rate, with one in two kids contracting a curable disease like Type 2 diabetes.
He asks us to become “eco-lutionary”.
“Growing your own food is like printing your own money!”
“See I’m an artist and gardening is my grafitti … I beautify lawns, parkways. I use the garden, the soil like it’s a piece of cloth. The plants and the trees, that’s my embellishment for that cloth.”
“Gardening is the most therapeutic and defiant act you can do, especially in the inner city”
